Bab Hutta

The second door from the gates of Al-Aqsa, it is located in the northern wall of the mosque, which is located between the minaret of the Lions Gate and door Faisal. It is the oldest gates of Al-Aqsa, It was built by the Umayyads and the origin of the door was binary and the western section of it was closed mostly when the soil building adjacent to the Alooudih (697 AH / 1298 AD) door. As for the date of restoration of the door; it goes back to the Ayyubid period in the year 617 AH / 1220 AD.

Mujir al-Din al-Hanbali says about this door: This is what Abu Huraira reported to us from Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and in this connection he narrated some of the ahadith and Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: It was said to Mousa to tell people of Israel: Enter this land saying Hitta (Remove Thou from us the burden of our sins), whereupon We would forgive you your sins, but they twisted (this statement) and entered the gate dragging upon their breech”

Ibn Abbas quoted the word of Allah in the holy Quran: “And (remember) when We said: Enter this town (Jerusalem) and eat bountifully therein with pleasure and delight wherever you wish, and enter the gate in prostration (or bowing with humility) and say: ‘Forgive us,’ and We shall forgive you your sins and shall increase (reward) for the good-doers.But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another, so We sent upon the wrong-doers Rijzan (a punishment) from the heaven because of their rebelling against Allah’s Obedience.”
